Lehava Junior (St. Petersburg)
The program “Lehava Junior” was created in the Jewish Culture Centre “ESOD” in 2016 and is aimed at developing leadership skills of 12-16-year-old children. During the participation in the program, children learn to work in a team, have personal development training, expand their knowledge of Jewish culture and traditions, learn about the activities of Jewish organizations in St. Petersburg, participate in volunteering activities, find new friends and try to create their own project.
The program lasts 7 months (from October till April) and children meet for classes, masterclasses, and lectures every Sunday.
Each month in the program is unique and looks like this:
- 2-3 personal development trainings with the psychologists of the center “12 Colleges”,
- own mini-project,
- new unusual places in St. Petersburg with interesting guests of the program.
- a joint celebration of Jewish holidays
- parties, cinema and interesting master classes (design, journalism, photography, video editing, etc.)
Also, our distinctive feature and our honor are the Program Board, which consists of graduate children who organize activities, classes, masterclasses and excursions for the participants of the current season Lehava Junior. They have influence, responsibility, and ability to manage many processes in the program.
The Lehava Junior program already includes 60 graduates, many of them take an active position in the Jewish community of St. Petersburg. They work as trainees in children and family camps, host huge charitable and volunteer events and initiate interesting projects.
