The International School of Madrichim “AJTeam” has started

The International School of Madrichim “AJTeam”, organized by the International Network of Jewish Teenage Clubs “Active Jewish Teens” (AJT), has started.

The school that is built on a combination of professional pedagogy, non-formal education, leadership training, Jewish knowledge and Judaism values, consists of three seminars.

The first seminar, which was attended by teenagers from the FSU countries aged 14-18 with an active position in their Jewish community, was held in Moldova. There were 37 participants from the Russian Federation, Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The teens studied the basics of madrichim craft and the principles of non-formal education, as well as the specifics of working with children.

“The goal of the International School of Madrichim “AJTeam” is to prepare a new generation of madrichim and educators who are creative, proactive, open-minded and confident, ready to take responsibility for community affairs and work in non-formal education,” said the coordinator of the International School of Madrichim “AJTeam” Artem Okun.

In the course of the next seminar, which will be held in April, the participants will get acquainted with the principles of teamwork, effective communication, developmental psychology and the basics of conflict management. The closing seminar will take place in August.

In addition to seminars, throughout the year the participants will carry out practical tasks, study on online platforms and also communicate with the mentors of the project.

After finishing the training course, graduates will be able to conduct classes with a group, speak in front of an audience, become a part of the international team of AJT madrichim, work in camps and during seminars. The top students will receive an invitation to the AJT International Conference 2022.
