Hanukkah Shabbaton “Miracles among our peers” was held in Kazan

On December 3-5, the long-awaited Hanukkah Shabbaton “Miracles among our peers” took place. This is an annual regional shabbaton, which, according to a good tradition, is held in Kazan and opens its doors to children from all over the region. Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus pandemic last year, such a large-scale event was not possible. This has heighten the interest in this year’s shabbaton even more. Everyone was looking forward to it: participants, madrichim and organizers. And it was not in vain!

The teens spent 3 wonderful days together: they experienced the warm family atmosphere, took part in creative master classes, attended lectures on Hanukkah, where they were able to take a fresh look at the seemingly well-known history of this holiday, tried themselves as detectives, spent whole investigation and found the stolen Hanukkiah. Cozy Kabbalat Shabbat, with wonderful song leaders, atmospheric Havdalah and, of course, the lighting of Hanukkah candles – the teens will remember all this for a long time! The shabbaton program was designed in a special way so that, in addition to a high-quality information block, the children had time to relax and lively interact with each other, which they had been deprived of for a long time. A lot of gifts, smiles, positive vibes – this is what everyone took with them to their city.
